At Goshen on Thursday evening, the Lions placed 7th in the IHSAA Regional Track & Field meet. Despite some illness, there were great performances by the many Elkhart qualifiers and the 4 x 100 Relay, and 2 individuals have advanced to the state finals at North Central HS in Indy on Friday, 6/6. For the Lions: Trenton Bias - 12th in the discus and 7th in the shot put Carson Pollard -11th in the high jump Sebastian Marquez Marquez - 10th in the 300 intermediate hurdles Otto Richter - 5th in the 800 Trevor Becker - 7th in the 800 The state qualifiers for the Lions are: Jamison Bertram, Nick Bosworth, Anthony Leonard, and Alonzo Newbern in the 4 x 100 Relay (Zach was ill and Alfonzo injured, and these boys stepped it up and STILL placed 3rd to qualify for state!) Max Malloy - 3rd in the 1600 with a career best 4:11.81 and 9th in the 3200 Alonzo Newbern - 2nd in the 200 and 3rd in the 100
