The Elkhart girls track & field team Regional qualifiers had an outstanding night at Warsaw last night, as nearly the entire team had PR's and we placed in 7 of the 8 events in which we qualified, exceeding our seed placing significantly. These efforts led to an impressive 5th place finish for the Lions. The team was led by Regional champion Ja'leiiya Williams, who ran a blistering 24.88 in the 200 m dash. Brynlee Jellison placed 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 40'6.25" to also advance to the state meet in Indianapolis on Saturday, 6/7. The meet will be held at North Central HS with a 3 PM start time. The 200 prelims are scheduled for a 5:40 PM start and the shot put is scheduled for a 3:30 PM start. Other outstanding performances at Regional included: Madilyn Collins - 9th in PV Rylee Drummond - 6th in HJ, tieing her season best Brendayah Dale - 10th in 200 Roselle Robles - 5th in the 400 m dash with a PR 4 x 100 Relay - Ja'leiiya, Brendayah,Trenyce Harris, and Jazlyn Torres - 5th place with a PR 4 x 400 Relay - Brianna Canfield, Aarionna Horton, Brendayah, and Roselle, 7th with a season best 4 x 800 Relay - Alaina Dibley, Valeria Cruz-Portillo, Ariana Garcia, and Roselle - 7th with a season best
