The boys hosted Chesterton and Northridge on Saturday in a Round Robin. The Lions last 5-2 to Chesterton and defeated Northridge 8-4. Our current record stands at 10-4 overall and 6-2 in the NIC heading into a big 2 game series with Penn this Tue/Wed. Individual stat leaders from Saturday include: In the Chesterton game, Logan Kelly and Trevor Hilliard combined to give up only 2 ER with Logan recording 5 KO's in 4 innings. Brody Weaver had 3 hits and an RBI and Max Shreiner had a solo HR to lead the Lions offense, but an early 2-0 lead was not enough. In the Northridge game, the Lions put up 8 runs in the first 3 innings to build an 8-4 lead, and no one could score after that. Quinn Rost and Greg Guest combined to give up 1 ER, with Greg pitching 4 shutout innings. Hitting leaders were: Brady Sherwood with 2 hits and 2 runs, Quinn with 2 hits, including a double and a run, Max Shreiner with 2 hits and 2 runs, and Brady Kelly and Adrian Pettis, both with a hit and 2 RBI's. The Lions travel to Penn next Tuesday to continue their pursuit of an NIC championship.
